Normal Community’s dance team returns to the State competition after finishing 8th in their Sectional last season.
The varsity dance team performs in the IHSA 3A State competition preliminary round tonight, taking the stage at Grossinger Motors Arena at 6:30 p.m.
With six teams advancing to the State competition from each Sectional, Community edged out 7th place finisher Plainfield Central by less than one-point on Saturday, Jan. 22.
Community’s 6th place finish with 81.52 points at the Fieldcrest Sectional distinguishes the group as the only 3A school south of I-80 to qualify for State.
Tonight’s lyrical dance to Banner’s “Got It In You” marks the team’s 6th trip to State, last competing in 2019, placing 30th.
Tickets are available for $11 and are available to purchase online.
