For the first time in program history, the Ironmen are perfect.

The wrestling team closed out the season with a spotless 20-0 dual meet record, securing its place as the most dominant squad the program has ever seen, the first undefeated season in program history.

Senior Caden Correll has been the driving force behind the team’s historic run. The 113-pounder has bulldozed his way through competition, posting a flawless 40-0 record. 

Correll, who also went unbeaten in the regular season as a sophomore, has taken down some of the toughest wrestlers in the country this year, knocking off returning state champions from IHSA Class 2A and 3A, and an opponent ranked No. 1 in the nation when Correll defeated him.

With the postseason looming, Correll is chasing another piece of history–a state medal. Medaling at the IHSA State Wrestling Competition this year would make the senior the first Ironman to place at State three different times. 

Correll has already etched his name into the record books—his 793 career takedowns rank first in school history.

But the 2024-25 season hasn’t been a one-man show. The Ironmen’s depth has powered their perfect run. Cole Gentsch (39-4), Jackson Soney (36-4) and Carter Mayes (34-5) have been crucial, with 12 wrestlers notching at least 20 wins.

Gentsch’s dominance extends beyond this season—his 163 career wins rank first in program history, four ahead of Correll. 

The senior also sits second all-time in career pins with 106, just behind Cooper Caraway’s program record of 116. 

Soney follows closely, ranking third with 83 career pins, while Correll is fourth with 70.

With history already made, the Ironmen now turn their focus to the postseason, looking to add the ultimate finishing touch to a season that has already secured its place in Community’s lore.
