The third-seeded Ironmen are set to open the postseason Oct. 22, hosting the seventh-seeded Minooka Indians at 6:30 p.m.

The Iron ended their regular season 13-6-5 and 7-1-2 in conference play, good for second behind Peoria Notre Dame in the Big 12.

Minooka enters the postseason with a record of 5-10-4 and is riding a three game win-streak, including a 2-0 victory over the Andrew Thunderbolts in their most recent match.

The teams previously faced off this season when the Indians traveled to Community for the Ironmen’s second contest of the year. That matchup ended in a 2-2 draw with Believe Avida and Cooper Lee scoring for Community.

Avida led the Ironmen offense this season, netting 16 goals and tallying 11 assists, while Joyce Lubika was close behind in both categories with 14 goals and nine assists.

The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to Saturday’s regional finals at Community, where they will face the winner of tonight’s matchup between second-seeded East Moline United Township and eighth-seeded Decatur Eisenhower.
