White shooting at the Sectional Round of the Three-Point Showdown, hosted by Pekin. White finished 7/15.

Regan White (‘20) and Olivia Plangger (‘21) were both eliminated from the IHSA Three-Point Showdown Thursday night after shooting at Pekin High School in the Sectional Round of the competition.

Plangger, who made 9/15 at the Regional shootout, scored five in Thursday night’s contest.

White shot 7/15, one short of the score needed to go into a tie-breaker against other shooters in the contest. White also made seven in the Regional Round.

“The nerves got to me,” White said, “It’s a tough way to go out, being so close.”

This will mark the last time White dons the Lady Iron uniform, as the team was eliminated by Normal West in the Regional Semi-Final.

Normal West’s sharpshooter Olivia Demosthenes made it into the tie-breaker round Thursday after shooting 8/15. Demosthenes then knocked down 8/10 shots to advance to the final round of the contest.

The Three-Point Showdown will conclude the night before the State Semi-Finals, hosted by Illinois State at Redbird Arena on Thursday, March 5.
