Boys take 2nd, girls 4th at Randy Sharer Intercity Meet

With four Ironmen placing in the top 15, the boys cross country team took second at the Randy Sharer Intercity Meet, trailing U-High 24-55.

Senior AJ Ince led Community, finishing second in 15:51.02—28.84 seconds behind the winner from U-High.

The senior has led the Iron’s efforts this season, finishing second or better in each of the team’s first four meets. 

Just two seconds separated the Iron’s next two finishers with senior Colin Heath taking 11th (17:01.96) and freshman Evan Kuhlman in 12th (17:03.88). 

In 14th was senior Luke Eganhouse (17:17.16) while sophomore Bryce Kuhlman just missed with a top 15 finish, taking 16th (17:20.82).

 

Emma Pollitt took 11th in the girls race on the way to a fourth-place team finish for the Iron.

The junior posted a time of 20:21.94, 44 seconds ahead of a pack of teammates. 

Audra Wolf finished in 17th for Community (21:05.33), Erin Schierer took 18th (21:07.17), in 19th was Taylor Beal (21:12.98), and in 20th, was Mackenzie Wayne (21:16:31.) 

The Ironmen travel to Peoria’s Detweiller Park on Oct. 4 for the Peoria High School Invitational, which features more than 70 teams from across Illinois.
