The Bloomington Normal Boys Lacrosse team ended the regular season 0-12 after suffering a 13-11 loss to Plainfield North (2-12) during May 8’s Senior Night match-up.

BN came within two quarters of breaking their winless streak in the regular season finale, taking a 7-4 lead into halftime. But Plainfield rallied in the third quarter, outscoring the Purple Iron Cats 5-0 in the period.

Plainfield held off BN in the fourth, with each team netting four goals. 

Ryan Baxter led BN in scoring, tallying three goals in the match. Quinn Butler, Tommy Eganhouse, Logan McDowell each added two scores and Aiden Jones and Ethan Nydegger contributed one. 

Baxter leads the team in scoring this season with 13 goals, and Eganhouse is third with nine.

The Purple Iron Cats will look for a win Thursday when they travel to take on Providence Catholic in the first round of IHSA sectional action. 

Providence Catholic boasts a 7-3 home record this season, losing the last two games they hosted. 

The Celtics enter Thursday’s contest with a 10-7 record, averaging just under 10 goals a game. 

The winner of the 5:30 p.m. contest will advance to the sectional quarterfinals and face Lockport Township (11-7).
