Dance Team falls short of State goal

The Normal Community Dance Team defended their Big 12 Conference title with a win over conference competitors on Saturday, January 13. The Dance Team performed to “Soldier” by the Fleurie. Normal Community West placed 2nd in the competition.

The team would not be able to repeat their success against stiff competition on Saturday, January 20 at the Washington Sectional. Competing in class 3A, the NCHS squad finished in 9th place with only the top 6 teams advancing. Minooka, Plainfield Central, and Lockport Township finished in the top 3 spots.

Normal West finished in 1st in the 2A scoring moving on to compete at the State competition.

Mackenzie Christian is a senior at Normal Community High School and a fourth-year member of the varsity Iron Dance Team. She worked with the Inkspot as a staff reporter her sophomore year and as a senior reporter her senior year. I am interested in Pursuing Journalism at the University of Missouri next year.
