Community’s student musicians brought live performances to the atrium ahead of spring break, as part of an annual lunchtime concert series celebrating Music In Our Schools Month, a music education awareness event now in its 40th year nationwide.

Jazz Ensemble, Voicemale and Key of She rotated performances during all three lunch periods on March 20, performing for crowds of students and staff as part of an effort to showcase the school’s music program.

The concerts, Music department head Mr. Ben Luginbuhl said, provides “great exposure” for ensembles that “people may not even know exist here.”

While the series helps raise awareness for Community’s music offerings, Luginbuhl said that isn’t his favorite part of the 15-plus-year tradition.

“I think the best part is just the atmosphere that it provides,” Luginbuhl said, during what can often be a hectic week leading into spring break.
