Armoni Connor shines on senior night with anthem performance [video]

While the Iron girls basketball team delivered a commanding Senior Night performance, defeating the Champaign Centennial Chargers 59-11 on Jan. 14, Armoni Connor’s standout moment came before the contest even tipped off.

Connor performed the national anthem for the third consecutive Senior Night, showcasing her vocal talent.

The Inkspot’s Ania Gwarda caught up with Connor after the game to reflect on the senior’s final anthem performance.

Ania is a senior at Normal Community High School and she is on the varsity cheer team and is involved in the choir program. This is her first year working with the Inkspot as a staff writer. On the weekends I enjoy spending time with friends and watching movies. My biggest pet peeve is rude people. A phrase I live by is everything happens for a reason.

Bailey Kozlen is a senior at Normal Community High School. This is her second year working with the Inkspot as a staff reporter. She is involved with theatre and everything performing arts-related. In my free time, I love singing and going on long drives. My all-time dream is to live somewhere in a big city. My best advice is to take every chance and opportunity that comes your way.

Maddie is a senior at Community; she is on the girls lacrosse team and is involved in the choir program. She is a senior staff reporter for the Inkspot. On the weekend, I enjoy spending time with friends. My all-time dream is to travel the world. My biggest pet peeves are stopping in the middle of hallways and rude people.
