Hauntcert performers on why this year’s show hits all the right notes [video]

In this Inkspot man-on-the-street video, orchestra members preview the Oct. 30 Halloween concert

Community’s annual Hauntcert will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 30, with performances at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Kevin Yale Vernon auditorium.

Presented by the Iron orchestra, the Halloween-themed concert combines music, costumes and visual effects with this year’s program featuring pieces from “Batman,” “The Incredibles,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and an orchestral interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart.”

The event is free and open to the public, and includes trick-or-treating and opportunities for audience members to dress in costume.

Lyra Townsend is a senior at Community; this is her third year on the Inkspot staff. She is an associate editor. My favorite movie is “Jaws.” On the weekends I like to fly planes. A book that impacted me was “Call Me By Your Name.”
