Our Goal
If you value the Inkspot’s commitment to student journalism—giving Normal Community’s reporters real-world experience—please consider donating to support our staff’s trip to the National High School Journalism Convention.
Your generosity helps us cover travel costs, enter national contests and attend sessions led by top media professionals—an unforgettable opportunity to learn, grow, and represent Community on a national stage.
THANK YOU for investing in the next generation of storytellers.

Random fact about me is I’ve been to 10 countries outside of the United States.
My hidden talent is that I am a fantastic procrastinator.
My slogan to live by is never be afraid to make someone’s day. Whether that’s something small, like complimenting someone in the hallways, or something big, like advocating for what you believe in.
Ethan Scott, Staff Writer
Ethan Scott is a senior at NCHS, where he participates in theatre. This is his first year as a member of the Inkspot staff.
In my free time, I like to watch football and baseball.
My dream is to become a beat writer for the Packers. I hope to study sports journalism in college.
Samantha Coleman, Staff Writer
Samantha is a senior at NCHS. She is not in any school-related activities; however, she is involved in the AWANA program at her church. This is her first year with the Inkspot as a staff writer.
My slogan to live by is even if you are on the right track, you will get ran over if you just sit there.
My favorite film is “Bounty Hunters.”
