2018-19 Back to school assembly

Normal Community students were welcomed to the 2018-2019 school year with an all-school assembly on the first day of classes.

  • The NCHS school mascot, Iron Ike, welcomes students into the 2018-19 school year.

  • Principal Mr. Trevor Chapman gives an opening speech to begin the new school year.

  • Associate Principal Mrs. Nikki Maurer gives a speech of her own.

  • Student Council president, Claire Meyer (12) welcomes students back to Normal Community.

  • The cheer team performs stunts and cheers for the school.

  • The new Iron Studs do a t-shirt toss.

  • The dance team performs their dance routine despite a technical issue that left them without music.

  • The NCHS band plays the school song to share school spirit.

  • The bleachers are packed full of students and school pride.

Will Dowell is a senior at Normal Community High School and he plays on the baseball team. This is his third year being a part of the Inkspot staff. My favorite film is Moneyball with Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. If I won a million dollars, then I would by 2 million Frosties from Wendy's. The slogan that I live by is "There is no such thing as an inappropriate joke, that's why it's a joke."-Michael Scott.

Evie Snoeyink is a senior at Normal Community High School and is involved in Student Council. This is her third year working with the Inkspot, and she is the Editor-in-Chief. On the weekends I enjoy hanging out with friends and watching movies. I am interested in learning about different cultures and beliefs. In my free time, I enjoy reading books.
