Summer snapshot: Reynolds captures state title in shot put

Class of 2025 graduate Marco Reynolds won the IHSA Class 3A State Championship in shot put last May, claiming the title with a finals throw of 42 feet, 9.5 inches.

Reynolds advanced to the state meet in shot put for the third consecutive year after earning back-to-back indoor titles at the Illinois Top Times Class 3A meet, winning as a senior with a mark of 42 feet, 8 inches.

In addition to her shot put success, Reynolds qualified for the state championship in discus after placing fourth at the Bloomington Sectional. Her season-best discus throw was 139 feet, 1 inch.
