Over 200 fans and family members celebrated the Ironmen basketball team’s 2024 season on Sunday, March 10, recognizing the team’s second-place finish in the 4A IHSA State basketball finals.
Public address announcer Mr. Dana Starkey, Athletic Director Mr. Nic Kearfott and principal Dr. Adam Zbrozek spoke about the significance of the accomplishment, the team’s second runner-up trophy in less than a decade, at the event.
Head coach Mr. Dave Witzig and assistants Mr. Ryan Short and Mr. Nathan Foster expressed thanks for the support of the community, student body and school as the team replicated 2015’s historic run and record.
After the ceremony, players and coaches signed autographs for some of the younger fans in attendance and posed for pictures with this season’s hardware: a State Farm Holiday Classic trophy, a Regional and Sectional title and the State trophy.
