Multimedia: 2017 Homecoming assembly

The Lugnuts won their second consecutive Battle of the Bands title on Wednesday, October 4. The band was rewarded the opportunity to play at the Homecoming assembly on Friday, October 6. The Lugnuts is a 3-piece instrumental band that plays original songs, they performed their songs "Stick" and "Ape" at both the Battle of the Bands competition and during the assembly.

The Step club has experienced some change for the 2017-2018 school year as club sponsor, Mrs. Paige Christie, is taking a leave of absence for the year. Mr. Bryan Thomas has stepped into the role of sponsor. The club performed for the student body on Friday, October 6 during the Homecoming assembly, their first all-school performance of the year.

The Dance team, under the direction of Mrs. Mindy Ewalt, performed during the Homecoming assembly on Friday, October 6. They were accompanied by the Drumline and Marching Iron tuba player, Trenton Burns performing the 1962 Bruce Channel song "Hey! Baby."  

The Homecoming court of Carter Aaron, Varshaun Dixon, Krithik Rao, Collin Laffey, Andrew Zajac, Madison Bryant, Katarina Gustafson, Aliyah Muhammad, Alexis Showalter and Lauren Smith spent last week dressed formally and sporting orange "Homecoming court" sashes, anxiously awaiting the results of the school vote for king and queen. Student Council held a variety of contests between the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes including Hula Hooping, gum chewing, and guessing the number of items in a jar during the Homecoming week lunch periods.
