Iron’s Got Talent: recap
Thirteen students took the auditorium stage at the annual Iron’s Got Talent variety show on Tuesday, February 25 – hoping to be selected as the audience’s favorite act.
After auditioning for the Junior Class Board, 10 acts, including singers, dancers, comedians and impersonators were selected to perform.
Ultimately, freshman Nelson Scott was voted audience favorite, and his drumming earned him the trophy.
The show, opened by Battle of the Band’s Bad Vision, featured the solo musical acts of Olivia Wexler (’21), Mia Lau (’22), and Nelson Scott (’23), and duos of Maggie Shackley (’20) and Ivy Goeckner (’22), Lindsey Holtz and Bree Hughes (’20), and Jane Beer (’23) and Marcos Martinez (’23).
Jasmine Jones (’21) and Miguel Bernal (’22) each showcased their dancing, Preston Thomas (’21) impersonated Family Guy characters, and Reid Watkins (’20) performed stand-up comedy.
The event raised $800 from ticket sales to fund the junior prom.
