Upcoming tests for NCHS juniors

The Junior agenda is full of various standardized and placement tests in the coming year.

PSAT registration is occurring.  The PSAT offers students the opportunity to gain SAT experience before the actual test happens in the spring.  Students wanting to take the PSAT should enroll by midnight on October 14.  The PSAT will take place at 8:30 AM on October 19 in Normal Community High School’s East Gym.

The SAT will take place in the spring.  All public high school students in the state of Illinois have the chance to take the SAT for free.

Because Illinois now uses the SAT as their state mandated test, the ACT is no longer administered to all high schoolers.  However, NCHS will host the ACT in October, December, February, and April.

Students interested in taking a dual credit class during the 2017-2018 school year have the chance to begin registering now.  Heartland applications must be completed by December 22.  Once the application is complete, students must take the ACCUPLACER test.  This test is a basic skills assessment, and aids in placing students in appropriate classes.

Advanced Placement tests will occur in the spring.  Registration will open later this fall.

Additional information concerning any standardized test can be found on the Counselors’ webpage: http://www.unit5.org/domain/1105
