New ice cream shop rolls into Eastland Mall

Mango Mango Creamery recently opened in Eastland Mall, offering fresh ice cream rolls.  The method of rolling ice cream originated in Thailand, and the technique has become popular in New York City.  Mango Mango is the first ice cream shop in the Midwest offering fresh ice cream rolls.

  • Mango Mango Creamery is a new ice cream store located in Eastland Mall.

  • Mango Mango Creamery opened in late April.

  • 3.5 ounces of cream are used for one serving of ice cream.

  • The cream is mixed with the desired flavor. In this case, the cream is mixed with mint.

  • Customers can choose from an array of toppings to add to their ice cream.

  • The cream mixture is poured onto the cold plate along with the toppings.

  • The cold plate reaches temperatures below -10 degrees fahrenheit.

  • The ingredients are mixed together.

  • Once the mixture is frozen, it is spread out around the cold plate to prepare for rolling.

  • The ice cream is rolled into six individual rolls.

  • The ice cream rolls and extra toppings are transferred to the cup.

  • The ice cream is served with additional toppings such as whipped cream and chocolate sauce, per the customer’s request.

  • The idea of rolling ice cream originally came from Thailand.

  • Mango Mango offers 12 ice cream flavors.
